PC Flipper Terms and Conditions

Sites: pcflipper.co.uk and pcflipper.uk (together, "PC Flipper", "the site", "we", "us")

Last updated: 4 September 2026

These Terms govern your use of PC Flipper. They are written to be fair and readable. They are not a substitute for independent legal advice. By creating an account or using the site you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. PC Flipper's Role as a Marketplace Platform

PC Flipper is a UK online marketplace platform and noticeboard for complete PCs, PC parts, peripherals, and related services (build, repair, install, pickup). Listings are classified ads posted by users.

We are a venue only. PC Flipper provides the platform for users to advertise and contact each other. We do not take payment between buyers and sellers. We do not hold money, offer escrow, or process card payments for user-to-user sales. We do not inspect, verify, store, or ship items. A sale, if it happens, is a private contract between the buyer and the seller. PC Flipper is not a party to that contract.

Listing fees may be introduced in future. Until then, posting is free. If listing fees or other charges start, we will announce them clearly on the site and update these Terms. Prices shown on the site are in pounds sterling (£ GBP).

2. User-Generated Content and User Responsibility

All listings, photos, descriptions, specifications, messages, reviews, and other content posted by users ("User Content") are created and provided solely by those users. Each user is entirely responsible for their own User Content.

By posting User Content, you represent and warrant that:

  • You have the right to post it and to sell or offer any goods or services described;
  • It is accurate, honest, and not misleading;
  • It does not infringe anyone else's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights;
  • It is lawful and does not violate any UK law or regulation;
  • Goods are not stolen, counterfeit, unsafe, prohibited, or illegal to sell in the UK;
  • You will not engage in bait-and-switch, fraud, or misrepresentation.

Photos: You may upload up to 8 photos per listing. We may compress them for performance. You must own the photos or have permission to use them. Do not use stock images of different items.

AI-generated descriptions: The "Use AI to write description" tool generates copy from the fields you enter. It does not inspect the actual item. You must read, verify, and correct AI-generated text before publishing. You remain fully responsible for all listing content, including AI-assisted content.

You licence your content to us: You keep ownership of your User Content. By posting it, you grant PC Flipper a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, display, reproduce, compress, modify (for technical reasons), and distribute your User Content as necessary to operate and promote the site. You may delete your content, but cached or archived copies may remain.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or to buy or sell through contacts made on PC Flipper.

You must provide accurate information (real name, working email address). Do not share your password. You are responsible for all activity under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, notify us immediately via the site.

Guest browsing: You may browse listings without an account. Guests cannot post, message, watch, or review. Creating an account means you accept these Terms.

4. Listing Rules and Ad Lifecycle

Status: You may set an ad as Active (public) or Hidden (draft). Inactive status is automatically set by the system after 2 months without updates. Inactive ads are removed from public view. We will notify you in-app when this happens. You may review and republish the ad; doing so resets the 2-month timer. The original posting date remains visible.

Marking items Sold: When you mark a listing Sold, you may optionally name the buyer (we suggest choosing from users you have messaged about that ad). Naming a buyer enables direct mutual reviews for that sale.

5. Messages, Meetings, and Shipping

Messages are for arranging genuine sales, services, or questions about listings. Do not use messaging to harass, spam, phish, threaten, or share other people's private details without consent.

In-person meetings (pickup/collection): Meeting is your choice and at your own risk. We recommend meeting in a public place and inspecting items before paying. PC Flipper is not present and has no control over meetings or transactions.

Shipping: Any postage or courier arrangements are between buyer and seller. We do not provide postage labels, tracking, or insurance.

6. Reviews

We want reviews that help the next person, not weapons. Reviews must be about the deal or the other party as a trading partner. Do not use reviews for hate speech, threats, doxxing, or abuse. We may remove reviews that break these rules.

Review rules: One review per person per sale (buyer reviews seller, seller reviews buyer). If you completed a sale together (the seller named the buyer when marking Sold), reviews go live immediately. If you have no confirmed sale history together, the review is sent to the other person for approval before becoming public. You may have at most one pending stranger-review towards the same person at a time.

7. Prohibited Use and Content

You must not:

  • List or sell stolen, counterfeit, unsafe, illegal, or prohibited goods or services;
  • List weapons, drugs, or anything unlawful under UK law;
  • Post fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive content;
  • Harass, threaten, abuse, or defame other users;
  • Violate others' intellectual property, privacy, or data protection rights;
  • Scrape the site, harvest user data, or run bots or automated tools against the platform;
  • Impersonate another person, business, or brand;
  • Upload malware, viruses, or harmful code;
  • Abuse, overload, or attack our servers or infrastructure;
  • Create fake accounts, sockpuppets, or engage in review manipulation or vote rigging;
  • Use PC Flipper branding (name, logo, wordmarks, mascot) as if it were your own or to mislead others.

8. Our Moderation Rights

We reserve the right, but have no obligation, to monitor, review, or moderate User Content. We may remove or hide any User Content, suspend or terminate accounts, and refuse service to anyone, at any time, without prior notice, if we believe:

  • These Terms have been breached;
  • Content or behaviour harms, endangers, or defrauds other users;
  • Content violates applicable law or regulation;
  • An account poses a security, fraud, or abuse risk;
  • It is necessary for safety, legal compliance, or to protect PC Flipper or its users.

We do not have to provide a detailed public explanation for moderation decisions, but we will communicate fairly where appropriate. Decisions are final.

9. No Liability for User Conduct or Transactions

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

PC Flipper is not liable for:

  • The accuracy, legality, quality, safety, or delivery of any goods, services, or User Content;
  • Any acts or omissions of buyers, sellers, or other users;
  • Fraud, scams, misrepresentations, or criminal conduct by users;
  • Disputes between users, including failed transactions, non-payment, non-delivery, or defective goods;
  • Any loss, damage, injury, or harm arising from meetings, sales, or other interactions between users;
  • User Content that is false, offensive, infringing, defamatory, or unlawful;
  • Loss or theft of goods, payment fraud, or counterfeit items.

You deal with other users at your own risk. Where UK consumer law applies between a consumer and a trader, those statutory protections remain in force between buyer and seller. Private sales between individuals have different rights and protections. PC Flipper is not the seller and is not responsible for enforcing those rights.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless PC Flipper, its operators, affiliates, and service providers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your User Content;
  • Your use or misuse of the site;
  • Your breach of these Terms;
  • Your violation of any law or any third party's rights;
  • Any sale, purchase, or transaction you enter into with another user.

11. Limitation of Liability and Disclaimers

The site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties or representations of any kind, express or implied, about the site's operation, availability, accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. The site may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance, upgrades, or technical issues.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of PC Flipper is limited to the greater of:

  • £100; or
  • The total fees (if any) you have paid to PC Flipper in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We exclude all liability for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, and for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, even if we were advised of the possibility of such losses.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under UK law, including liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
  • Any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

12. Intellectual Property

The PC Flipper name, logo, wordmarks, mascot, and site design are our property or used under licence. You may not copy, reproduce, or use them except as necessary to share your own listings using tools we provide.

13. Privacy

We collect and process personal data to operate the site. We do not sell user data. Full details are in our Privacy Policy. By using PC Flipper, you agree to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time (for example, if we introduce listing fees or new features). We will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated Terms. If a change is material, we will notify users on the site or via in-app message.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction to resolve any disputes, without limiting any mandatory consumer rights you may have to bring proceedings in the courts of your UK home country.

16. General

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and PC Flipper regarding use of the site.

17. Contact

For legal, privacy, or general enquiries, please use our Contact Us form at /contact or send an in-app message.
